Electric Projector Screen

An electric projector screen gives you the convenience of an automatic motorized projection display that goes up and down with a simple remote.

Home theatres have become a popular feature over the last few years and while large screen televisions can be used for these, it is possible to get a more cinema like feeling by using a projector and screen. There is a variety of this type of equipment on the market these days and if you want to install a more professional looking set up, an electric projector screen is an option to consider.

Electric projector screens are basically retractable equipment which is housed inside a solid case. However, rather than being opened and closed manually, the screen is manufactured with an electric motor which is used to operate it. Generally they will be permanently installed in one location, with both ceiling mounted and wall mounted models being available.

The obvious advantage of using an electric projector screen is that it is easier to operate than manual equipment and can be opened and closed remotely. This is generally done by a dedicated switch or many are produced with a remote control to operate them. They are typically available in a wide range of sizes and aspect ratios, meaning whatever size of room you have available you should be able to find an appropriate sized screen.

When looking to purchase an electric screen for a projector there are a number of specialized outlets that have them available. HT Market is one of these and they have screens available from a few different manufacturers such as Elite Screens and Stewart Filmscreen. Prices for the screens start at under $200 with the Electric Spectrum Series being an example of this. It is available for $150 and features maxwhite screen material and can be either wall or ceiling mounted. Prices for some of the more sophisticated electric screens from HT Market can rise in price to around $12,000. The Stewart Filmscreen Vertical ABT Trapdoor ElectriMask Screen retails for $11,800 and offers the choice of a variety of high grade screen materials. The screen is housed in an aluminum case and is fitted with a tab-guy tensioning system which helps to produce a smooth screen with no edge curl.

Another retailer that has electric projector screen equipment available is Projector People. They sell equipment produced by a number of manufacturers with some of these including Draper Screens, Da-Lite Screens and AccuScreens. Prices for the electric screens that Projector People have available start in the region of around $200, although can rise in price to around $3,500 for some of the higher quality equipment on sale. Focused Technology is a further retailer that has electric screens for projectors available, with the majority of the equipment they sell being produced by Draper Screens and Da-Lite Screens.

Most people will look to install the best equipment they can in a home theatre and an electric projector screen is an option for this. They come in a variety of sizes and a wide range of prices, such that whatever your needs and budget, you should be able to find an electric screen that is appropriate.
